Mehmet Sakar received his B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from Middle East Technical University and is a current PhD candidate. He worked in the Turkish Government as a structural engineer and in the private sector as a geotechnical engineering consultant. After 11 years of experience from design to construction and management in Turkey, he moved in to New York in May 2006, where he continued in construction and engineering consulting.

Currently an Energy Solutions Associate at GRANT engineering, Yoachim is completing a BS in Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University. Yoachim’s technical interests are in renewable energies and their environmental and cost impacts. Yoachim has an interest in renewable energy policy and large-scale utility construction, operation, maintenance and finance.

Marcus Kambobe is a Mechanical Engineer in New York, originally from Zambia (Lusaka). His particular interests are in thermal fluid systems and energy efficiency. He is a member of ASME And ASHRE. Mr. Kambobe has an Associates Degree in network Engineering and is receiving his Mechanical Engineering degree from City College of New York.

Pam Short is part of the Financial Operations group. Pam holds an MBA and has 15 years of managerial experience in a variety of industries. She is experienced in setting up and using Quickbooks, is knowledgeable in all aspects of bookkeeping, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and preparing reports for management. Pam also has 5 years of banking experience including both branch management and commercial lending.
Betsy Gillard has a BS in Civil Engineering and plays a multi-disciplinary role on GRANT’s engineering team. She has experience working in both the public and private sectors of civil engineering and is particularly interested in sustainable development. She has worked on development projects in Nicaragua and is active on a project in El Salvador with EWB-NY.
