Condition assessments and expert reports in New York City
When something is wrong with a building, or someone needs to know whether something is, Grant Engineering sends an engineer to look, and puts the findings in a report signed by a Professional Engineer. Owners, property managers, insurers and attorneys use our reports to decide on repairs and to resolve disputes.
What we assess
- Construction defects in new or renovated buildings
- Damage from neighboring excavation or construction
- Water infiltration in cellars and foundations
- Cracks, settlement and movement
- Sidewalks and vaults
- General structural condition, before a purchase, a renovation or a change of use
What you receive
- A site visit by an engineer
- An engineer's report with photographs, findings, likely causes and recommendations
- For matters in dispute, an expert report prepared for your attorney
Common questions
I think my contractor's work is defective. Can you help?
Yes. We inspect the work against the drawings and the code, and report what we find. If you have an attorney, we work with them directly.
Do you work with attorneys and insurers?
Yes. We work directly with attorneys representing owners, and with insurers.
